Emmanuel Potdevin, a partner at Regimbeau, was elected President of the French Patent & Trademark Attorneys Institute (CNCPI) on Wednesday, December 4.
After serving three terms as Vice President, he will assume his new role on January 1, 2025.
"This election gives me the opportunity to continue actively contributing to the promotion and development of our profession. Although it has always risen to challenges and demonstrated its dynamism, it is now crucial to maintain our efforts, as the field of intellectual property is evolving at an increasingly rapid pace," said Emmanuel Potdevin.
Emmanuel Potdevin is an engineer graduated from the “Institut National du Nord" and is a qualified French & European Patent and Trademark Attorney. He also is a representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and is listed as a mediator with the Paris Court of Appeal. With over 30 years of experience, he advises clients ranging from SMEs to large corporations on all aspects of intellectual property.
Emmanuel has been involved in numerous disputes, particularly regarding counterfeiting, and has extensive experience in opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office (EPO). He is also committed to training future professionals, notably as a lecturer at the CEIPI (French and International sections).
In 2024, he was recognized as one of the leading practitioners in patents by "Who's Who Legal: Patents."
